Barrington Food Pantry

The Food Pantry is open Thursdays from 6-7:30 PM. Located at 105 Ramsdell Lane (below the Library and near the gym doors at the side of the building facing the parking lot).

Meals on Wheels

Meals on Wheels

Elderly individuals (age 60 or over) who may have little or no support at their homes on a consistent basis. Applicants must be home bound and vulnerable by reason of illness, incapacitating disability, or otherwise isolated.

  • They may have difficulties to do every day activities without assistance like:
    • Physically unable to shop and/or prepare meals due to severe illness or disability.
    • Unable to manage their own medications and/or manage money without help.
    • Unable to do daily housework.
    • Mentally incapable of providing for their nutritional needs (they may get confused or be forgetful).
    • Homebound or unable to leave their home without assistance.
  • Seniors who are recovering from surgery and other temporary conditions, or require meals on a continuing basis who have met the program requirements.
  • Disabled participants 18 years or older, who meet the program requirements.

Community Action Partnership of Strafford County

Strafford County contracts with the Strafford County Community Action Program, Inc. to provide a variety of programs to low-income residents of Strafford County. They have WIC, heating and electric, weatherization assistance, the Fix-It Program to help with small home repairs, elderly transportation programs, child care programs, and workplace assistance programs. 

Pope Memorial Humane Society
For those who can no longer afford to care for their pets, or whose living arrangements have changed making pet ownership impossible, the shelter is available to take in pets and find them new homes.

The Homemakers Health Services is a full service, charitable health care agency which provides compassionate, professional, comprehensive, and cost effective visting nurses, physical and occupational therapy, home health, home support, adult medical day care services, and community wellness programs to adults throughout Strafford. 

Coast Bus
Half-Fare application available for Elderly passengers (65 years and older), disabled passengers, Medicare cardholders, and COAST ADA Paratransit clients to be able to pay half the regular fare cost on COAST fixed routes.
