  • Drop-In Preschool Story Time
    Thursdays from 11 AM-12 PM

    Children 4-6 years old are invited to this drop-in, independent story time to hear stories and do a related craft or activity with Ms Wendy. Session runs March 28  - May 23. Read more here.

  • Comics in World History and Culture
    Thursday, May 2 from 5:30 - 7 PM

    Marek Bennett presents a whirlwind survey of comics from around the world and throughout history, with special attention to what these vibrant narratives tell (and show) us about the people and periods that created them.

    Kate Wilcox
    All during the month of April, we will have local artist Kate Wilcox's photographs on display. Kate is an Environmental Educator and a Card-carrying Maple Enthusiast. She loves to share her adventures and discoveries through her photography.

  • EASTER EGG HUNT - Saturday, April 20th
    Sponsored by the Barrington Public Library & the Barrington Recreation Department.
    Barrington children are invited to three different sessions designated for specific age groups:
    •        10:00am - Children 1-3 years old
    •        11:30am - Children 4-6 years old
    •        1:00pm – Children 7-9 years old
    Each program begins in the Town Gym with a short story. You must be at the gym to be counted in our total of egg hunters. Barrington residednts only. Rain or shine. Click HERE for more information and guidelines.

    A group of local writers meet to share and discuss works in progress. New members always welcomed - High school age and up.

  • Intro to the New Hampshire Historical Society
    Wednesday, May 1 at 6pm

    The Barrington Genealogy Club welcomes Sarah Galligan, the director of the New Hampshire Historical Society (NHHS). Sarah will share about the society's collections, exhibitions and unique library resources related to New Hampshire and New England. The collections at NHHS are sure to have information not found elsewhere.  The Barrington Genealogy Club meets on the first Wednesday of each month. Everyone is welcome.

  • Babysitting Certification Course
    Saturday, May 11th from 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM
    This course is designed for kids who are looking to, or already babysit. All students will receive CPR and First Aid certification and a Babysitting certification.
    The cost of this course is $60. Registration and payment can be completed by visiting McGregor's website here 

Information Session - Reading with TeeTonka
Monday, April 29th from 3:30 - 4:30pm

The BPL welcomes any families interested in learning more about the Library’s new program “Reading with TeeTonka”. At this information session BPL staff, along with Tom Daniels (TeeTonka’s handler) will be explaining the purpose and goals for the program and introducing TeeTonka. Tom will be explaining the difference between a therapy dog and a service dog, how TeeTonka became a therapy dog through Love on a Leash, will demonstrate the appropriate ways to greet a therapy dog and the use of hand commands he uses with TeeTonka. This is a great opportunity for families and children to learn more about the certification process and the vision for our new reading program at the Library.

Plans are underway for a new library in Barrington that will serve as an important community gathering place for citizens of all ages.
