Summer Reading is always interesting with programs such as Curious Creatures bringing animals for kids to touch and learn about. Our Director liked the crocodile!

Each year children and teens get to choose 1-2 free books to take home as a prize for participating in our summer reading program. All prize books come from generous donations from our patrons.

Summer Reading 2011 ended with an awesome magic show...over 100 children attended and had ice cream to celebrate.

Wildlife Encounters always has great animals the kids can learn about and touch. We usually have about 200-250 kids attend this summer event.

Story Time for ages 4-6 includes craft time and they make some COOL stuff.....masks for Chinese New year this time.
Getting a first library card at age 6 is always a treat...welcome to the library!
Adults get special events too...we had Marina Forbes come and teach people how to paint Russian nesting dolls. They learned a lot about Russian culture and made these gorgeous dolls to take home.

Maggie did an awesome job creating her henna tattoo at our teen workshop!
Mom gets a Henna Tattoo from her daughter during one of our summer reading events. What a great way for generations to come together!
Miss Wendy, or children's/teen librarian is willing to do whatever it takes to get those kids to read...even dress up as an Australian outback guide and do school visits!

Story times are always a big hit. Register early for limited spaces!

The kids built Fairy Houses from natural materials and then went outside to hunt for the elusive creatures. A nice craft and an outdoor excursion.
Alex the Jester came to visit and was hilarious...great fun for all. Our programs are free and open to the public.

Fire prevention week means a visit by the firemen and the truck to our story time. The kids love this...OK, so do the librarians :)
